Mountain Flight
… will guide you toward the best sights of mountain flight.
Besides, flying in the mountains is the business of confirmed pilots, flying an “ULM” (which means ultralight motorized airplane) is flying an airplane. It is obvious that you must have good judgement, solid flying skills, strong sense of responsibility and you must know when to turn back. Safety first, whenever in doubt.
Musée de l'Aviation du Canada
11, promenade de l'Aviation - Ottawa (Ontario)
K1K4R3
Le Musee de l’Aviation du Canada – Aviation Museum of Canada, is known as being one of the most beautiful Aviation Museums and one of the best of the world. It offers a wonderful surrounding to all your events. Its buiding, built as a delta wing (the years best design in architecture as a specialist said when it first opened in 1988) contains invaluable treasures of the world’s aeronautical legacies.
It is organized so that you can welcome all kinds of events and activitiesm, such as receptions, lectures, balls, and other sorts of more modest ceremonies.
The spectacular Rockcliffe promenade will take you from the Parliament Hill to the Museum in less than 10 minutes by car and the parking is free.
The Lysander was conceived in response to a request for an aircraft that could take off and land in a very short distance (ADAC). Strong enough for reconnaissance flights and observation at low altitude.
Unfortunately, its specifications, too simple, corresponded more to WW I. This aircraft, although technically excellent, was too vulnerable for a modern war. After 1940, the British Lysanders were used for search and rescue and for unusual missions like the transportation of spies between Great Britain and the Continent.
Lysander… mythical airplane with such a characteristic shape. It became known for the secret transportation of special agents during WW II.
It is presented in the superb Musee de l’Aviation du Canada site. It is reknown as being one of the best museums of the world, containing invaluable treasures of the aeronautical world’s legacy. There is a lot of information. (A must visit site)…
